Insulation

Fiberglass

Fiberglass is composed principally of natural ingredients such as sand and recycled glass products like windows and beverage bottles. The ingredients are melted and spun to create tiny strands of fiberglass. Fiberglass is the most widely used home insulator, and is also used to reduce noise transfer room to room.  Fiberglass is made in batts and blown forms.

We are proud to work with the following fiberglass manufacturers:

Fibertek

Woodman uses an additional form of fiberglass insulation – Johns Manville’s Spider™ Custom Insulation System. Spider is a formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass that sprays in almost dry, completely filling gaps and voids around electrical fixtures, pipes and other obstructions to give you superior insulation coverage. Spider™ insulation will not settle or shrink, and it’s inorganic and naturally mold-resistant.

Cellulose
Cellulose insulation has been used to insulate homes for many years. Cellulose is made from recycled newsprint and other recycled paper and treated with nontoxic fire retardants.  Cellulose insulation gives you a durable, safe, cost-effective solution to your insulation needs.

Cellulose insulation is available in two primary forms. One form is used to insulate attics. A second is used to  insulate sidewalls.

We install cellulose insulation from the following manufacturers:

Green Fiber
Applegate

Foam Insulation

Foam insulation is a popular choice in insulation. Applied as a liquid, foam insulation expands to 100 times its volume in seconds to fill every crack and crevice. Foam insulation remains flexible after installation the integrity of the building envelope seal remains intact over time. Foam insulation acts as a complete insulation and air barrier to minimize air leakage and seal the building envelope for optimal airtightness.

Although many homeowners choose to use foam throughout their entire home, in many cases, foam insulation is used for air sealing. Using this product that easily fills crevices and expands, it is a perfect solution to help keep energy in the home.

We install foam insulation from the following manufacturers:

Retro Foam
CFI InsulSmart is an injectible foam insulation that expands fully before entering the wall cavity and hardens in place as it dries. InsulSmart can be installed from the interior or exterior of the home, and can be installed behind existing brick or block walls, including behind exterior walls of brick homes. It can also be installed in crawl spaces or in basement block walls.
